Always confused by Paul’s comments on women in church here — he indicates that women should pray and prophesy earlier in the letter, so how then can they remain silent?

God’s pleading with his people to recognise him and love him above all other gods is really beautiful but also a humiliation that foreshadows Jesus’ coming - what other god would care enough about his people that he would go to such lengths to win them back? He is above all things yet not afraid to look foolishly desperate for our hearts.
Not sure the Dean would be happy about that
