Love reading about the year of Jubilee. Such a strong reminder that everything belongs to God. I’m not sure we could get our politicians to back it, but how could we get some of those principles into our modern life?
Also love Jubilee - struck by the land itself needing redemption and rest. Climate emergency is the result of losing this principle and thinking we can just keep taking from the land… And in Jeremiah we hear the purpose of the laws to start with - God says the people are provoking him by following other gods, but ultimately, they are only harming themselves. God really does know what’s best for us, even if we don’t get it when he tells us!
